Rental Terms
Age and Licensing Requirements
To rent a vehicle from AutoRent, the driver must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license that has been held for a minimum of two years. For certain luxury or specialty vehicles, the minimum age requirement may be higher, typically 25 years old. The driver’s license must be presented at the time of rental, and it must be valid for the entire duration of the rental period. International customers must provide a valid passport and, if required, an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to their driver’s license.
Deposit and Payment Terms
A security deposit is required at the time of rental, which is held on the renter’s credit or debit card. The amount of the deposit varies depending on the vehicle type and rental duration. This deposit is fully refundable upon the return of the vehicle in the same condition as when it was rented. Payment for the rental must be made in full before the vehicle is released. AutoRent accepts major credit cards, debit cards, and, in some locations, cash payments. Any additional charges, such as fuel, late returns, or damages, will be deducted from the deposit or billed separately.
Insurance and Liability
All vehicles rented from AutoRent come with basic insurance coverage, which includes third-party liability and damage protection. Renters have the option to purchase additional insurance coverage for added protection, such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Theft Protection (TP). In the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle, the renter is responsible for a deductible, the amount of which depends on the insurance plan chosen. Renters are required to report any accidents, damages, or theft to AutoRent immediately, and a police report may be necessary for insurance claims. Failure to comply with these terms may result in full liability for the damages.
